Skyline Sanctuary

A modern rooftop sauna with panoramic glass walls, warm cedar interiors, and stunning city skyline views, offering a serene escape above the urban hustle.

Project Overview

When Spa Prof was approached to design a rooftop sauna for a high-end apartment building, the vision was clear: create a stunning escape above the city hustle. Skyline Sanctuary became more than just a sauna—it’s now the crown jewel of the building’s rooftop, offering residents a cozy retreat with unbeatable skyline views.

The Vision

The client wanted a space that would:

  • Take full advantage of the rooftop views with floor-to-ceiling glass.
  • Feel warm and welcoming with natural materials like wood.
  • Blend perfectly with the rooftop’s modern design.
  • Offer a seamless indoor-outdoor experience for relaxation.

It wasn’t just about building a sauna—it was about creating a one-of-a-kind experience.

The Challenges

Like all great projects, this one had its hurdles:

  1. Tight Space: The rooftop was compact, and the design needed to feel spacious without taking over the entire area.
  2. Weatherproofing: Being exposed to all kinds of weather, the sauna had to be tough but still look sleek.
  3. Weight Limitations: The building’s structure needed reinforcement to support the sauna and the outdoor elements.
  4. City Rules: Urban regulations required Spa Prof to navigate strict codes for materials, size, and energy efficiency.

How We Made It Happen

Design That Wows

Working closely with the client, Spa Prof created a sauna that felt modern yet inviting. The cedar paneling added warmth, while the glass walls captured the stunning cityscape. Recessed LED lighting added the perfect ambiance for evening relaxation.

Materials That Last

  • Cedar Wood: Naturally durable, great for insulation, and adds that signature spa smell.
  • Triple-Glazed Glass: Keeps the heat in, blocks UV rays, and stays crystal clear.
  • Slate Flooring: Non-slip and weather-resistant—perfect for rooftops.

Building With Precision

  • The sauna was pre-assembled in sections off-site for a flawless fit during installation.
  • Structural reinforcements ensured the rooftop could handle the weight safely.
  • A custom ventilation system kept the heat in the sauna and the moisture out of the rooftop.

Outdoor Oasis

Surrounding the sauna, Spa Prof created a cozy outdoor area with slate-tiled patios, subtle LED lighting, and low-maintenance greenery. The lounge chairs added the perfect touch for cooling off and soaking in the view.

Why It Stands Out

Skyline Sanctuary isn’t just a sauna—it’s an experience. The glass walls make the city views feel like part of the design, while the warm cedar interior creates the ultimate escape. The compact design fits perfectly without overwhelming the rooftop, and every detail—from the lighting to the flooring—feels thought out.

Working with Spa Prof was a dream. They really understood what we were going for and brought it to life better than we could’ve imagined. The residents love it—it’s become the centerpiece of our building. Even people who weren’t into saunas before are obsessed with using it now!
